Author PK Stuart approached Spindle looking for a website redesign within her existing WordPress framework. Her existing website lacked the visual appeal she wanted, and to use her words, she drove herself nuts trying to adjust the little visual elements to appear just how she wanted them. As the author of multiple fantasy-based books with beautiful visual art on the covers, she wanted to do her books justice with a beautiful website.

Our Goals
Improve visual design with a modern aesthetic, refreshed color palette, consistent and complementary font choices, and on-page animations

Work with the client to build out a visually-pleasing color palette based on cover art from her books
Choose fonts that complement the style and brand of the client’s books
Implement fixed background images and scrolling animations
Reorganize website content to ensure the latest book is on the homepage, with easy and clear navigation to the other books below
Configure client’s MailerLite account with a new list for beta readers, create a beta readers signup form, and ensure functionality
Create buttons with custom “Leave a Review” links for each book to improve UX and increase reader reviews
